When I was a little girl growing up in a suburb of Boston, my grandmother, who we affectionately called "gee", would always say "put some shoes on those little wiggees, they are going to get cold!". And my two sisters and I would laugh and then run to find our shoes.

With the birth of my own son, I instinctively referred to his adorable tiny feet as his little wiggees. I couldn't wait to put li'l shoes on his li'l feet. Knowing that barefoot is best for infants and toddlers for proper foot development, yet not always practical, and wanting a shoe with no restrictions that is comfortable, breathable, affordable (since little feet grow so fast), and most of all safe......... I looked but could not find one that combined all these features.

I found a need, decided to design one myself, and Wiggee's was born.

It is no coincidence the word "gee" is found in Wiggee's.

Gee is now 94 years old, physically healthy but unfortunately has alzheimers disease.
She is still an inspiration to me.
